What is Fear?

Fear keeps us focused on the past or worried about the future. If we can acknowledge our fear, we can realize that right now we are okay. Right now, today, are still alive, and our bodies are working marvelously. Our eyes can still see the beautiful sky. Our ears can still hear the voices of our loved ones.
-Thich Nhat Hanh

Fear is inevitable, if it didn't exist nobody would achieve or accomplish goals or ambitions unless there had to be something that there was to fear. Fear keeps us from doing something that someone can probably overcome, it is a barrier or a drive that makes us advance in a way to overcome it. Everyone has a fear, but we are also different for example there is such as the fear of heights, water, the darkness, being locked up, the outdoors, insects, animals, not waking up, death, not knowing the unknown, pain, failure, rejection, etc. These fears might have derived from your childhood or from a relative that might of tried to scare you, and you still have that locked up inside, ready to come out when an instance including it approaches.

My questions:
- What does fear do to us?
- Is there more to fear?
-Is fear personal or impersonal?
-Is based on real life or is it imaginative?
-How do you feel when the fear is over?
-How can we overcome fear?
-What parts of the brain do you use when you have fear?
